Today, the California Business & Industrial Alliance (CABIA) launched a new tool designed to fact-check Governor Gavin Newsom’s most egregious claims. It’s called “Gavin’s Gaslight Tracker.”
The tracker analyzes statements from Governor Newsom on issues ranging from minimum wage hikes to homelessness and rates their accuracy on a scale of 1-5. (One meaning there is low or no amount of gaslighting present, with five meaning the statements are blatantly false claims that will mislead or cause harm.) The tracker will be updated regularly to reflect today’s fast-paced news cycle.
“Governor Newsom has been gaslighting the people of California for years, always twisting the facts to fit his narrative,” said Tom Manzo, president and founder of the California Business and Industrial Alliance. “Our tracker will hold Gavin Newsom accountable for his statements and policies that negatively affect California residents, including the small businesses and employees whose suffering Newsom continues to downplay or outright deny.”
CABIA was a leading force behind exposing the truth on the economic impact of California’s $20 an hour fast food minimum wage law, showing the nation that, despite Newsom’s claims, the state had in fact lost thousands of jobs due to his disastrous law.
Gavin’s polished media appearances can’t hide the harsh reality: His misguided policies are hurting residents, workers, and businesses across the Golden State.
